*A Word About Our Parish Organization: A parish is led by its clergy and vestry. Though not a board of directors or a senior management team, there are some similarities in the ways these various groups function. A vestry is different because the church is different. We can only understand the peculiarities of vestry identity when we see that identity in the context of the church, the setting in which the vestry exercises its ministry of leadership. The canons of the church give exclusive authority over the fiscal affairs of the parish to the vestry. Vestry members, however, are also spiritual leaders who work with the clergy to build up the Body of Christ - the Church - so that it can be an effective instrument of mission and ministry in the world. Each of us in the Church has a ministry for which God has equipped us with talent, skill, and passion. At Nativity, we group these ministries in the general context of a committee, so that together we accomplish what each of us individually could not. Our committees are led by a chairperson, who encourages and facilitates the work to which The Spirit calls us. Some committees are further broken down by specialization.
